You will be part of the biggest international student association of Tilburg. As a buddy, you will become friends with a group of 15/20 international master students from all around the world. You’ll help them get to know Tilburg and each other. Twice a month you will have an activity with your own group or with other groups as well. This is usually on a Thursday and can be a dinner or some (pre)drinks together. After the dinner or (pre)drinks there will usually be a party at our bar. During the Thursday parties, we have different music themes in order to serve all tastes within our organization.

Besides all the fun and dinners, you also get to coordinate and help your group to integrate into the Dutch culture. Through this you learn how to manage events (the two monthly activities), you improve your motivational skills (by getting everyone to the dinner and party afterwards) and also mingling in a culturally diverse organization (we have students from all around the world).

In the end, the most amazing part of being with ESN is building an international network and broadening your horizon with people from around the world. You meet interesting people, eager to learn about Dutch culture and looking for a platform to make international friends with similar interests.

As a buddy, you:

• Are present during the introduction period including: the buddy and mentor meeting (BAM), the registration days, functioning as a TOP mom/dad during TOP Week and joining our famous introduction camp. During this period you will meet and get to know your group and introduce them to ESN and Tilburg student live.
• Help your group to feel at home. Beside the social aspects this also means assisting them with questions, problems and social integration.
• Have a nice dinner or have (pre)drinks with your group twice a month (students in your group will cook) and attend our Thursday music themed parties together with your group.
• Stay informed about all ESN activities, so you are able to pass this on to the students. Of course all activities are the most fun if there is a large enthusiastic crowd, so make sure the students are aware of what is going on and alert them on the advantages of signing up! In the end we organize the events for them.
